CloudBerry launches CloudBerry Dedup Server

CloudBerry Lab has launched a data deduplication solution for Windows Server, CloudBerry Dedup Server.

The new solution can reduce storage volume requirements by up to 90 percent for small to mid-sized businesses (SMBs) backing up their data to the cloud.

IT service retailers can make their managed backup offerings more attractive to SMBs.

The company said, new solution works in conjunction with CloudBerry Backup to deduplicate backups and can be used with multiple cloud-based data storage platforms.

The data received from client workstations and servers are processed to scan for blocks of data identical to what has already been archived. After deduplication is completed, all data is moved directly to a customer’s cloud storage account.

Additionally, SMBs can reduce the cost of cloud backup leveraging CloudBerry.

CloudBerry Dedup Server use cloud storage space more efficiently and reduce Internet traffic by compressing data sent to the cloud and increase the security of backups with a 256-bit- AES algorithm.

Company officials said new solution is designed for multiple cloud-based data storage platforms including Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, Rackspace, HP Cloud, IBM SoftLayer and others.

This apart, CloudBerry Dedup Server is compatible with all editions of CloudBerry Backup including Managed Backup, Desktop, Server and Bare Metal Restore.

CloudBerry Dedup is available for download with 15-days free trial.

“The intelligence we’ve built into CloudBerry Dedup Server significantly enhances the value proposition represented by cloud backup solutions for both SMBs and IT services resellers,” said Alexey Serkov, CTO at CloudBerry Lab.
