Citrix CEO Mark Templeton decides to retire

Citrix Systems President and CEO Mark Templeton announced his decision to retire.

“I will continue to focus on leading Citrix and driving value-creating change until we are ready to make a smooth transition,” said Templeton.

Citrix has initiated a CEO search process and has retained Heidrick & Struggles, an executive search firm, to assist with the process of identifying and evaluating candidates.

Templeton has served as president of Citrix since 1998 and CEO since 2001. He joined Citrix in 1995 as vice president of Marketing, prior to the company’s initial public offering. Under his leadership, Citrix has transformed from one product, one customer segment and one go-to-market path, to a global IT company with annual revenues of $3.14 billion and 100 million users.

Citrix today said its revenue rose 2 percent to $797 million in Q2 2015 against $782 million in the second quarter of fiscal year 2014. Net income of Citrix for the second quarter of fiscal year 2015 grew to $103 million from $53 million.
