Cisco enhances WLAN leadership in Q3 2022: IDC

The revenue of enterprise wireless local area network (WLAN) market increased 34.3 percent in the third quarter of 2022 to $2.6 billion, according to IDC report.

The revenue of consumer WLAN market rose 2.4 percent, while unit shipments declined 13.2 percent in the third quarter of 2022.

“Wi-Fi standards are encouraging enterprise adoption of WLAN technology, notably the emergence of Wi-Fi in the 6 GHz spectrum via Wi-Fi 6E,” said Brandon Butler, research manager, Enterprise Networks, IDC.

Cisco’s enterprise WLAN revenues rose 29.8 percent to $1 billion and grew 32.4 percent on a sequential basis from 2Q22 to 3Q22. Cisco’s enterprise WLAN share stood at 39.7 percent in 3Q22, compared to a market share of 37.7 percent in 2Q22.

HPE-Aruba enterprise WLAN revenues rose 76.6 percent year over year in 3Q22 and rose 29.0 percent sequentially, giving the company market share of 15.3 percent, up from 14.9 percent in the previous quarter.

Ubiquiti enterprise WLAN revenues increased 19.2 percent year over year in 3Q22 and rose 14.0 percent sequentially, giving the company 7.2 percent market share in the quarter, down from 7.9 percent in 2Q22.

Huawei enterprise WLAN revenues rose 6.7 percent year over year in 3Q22 and declined 9.3 percent from 2Q22 to 3Q22, giving the company 6.1 percent market share, down from 8.5 percent in 2Q22.

H3C enterprise WLAN revenues increased 0.7 percent in 3Q22, and increased 17.7 percent sequentially, giving the company market share of 4.3 percent, down slightly from the 4.6 percent share in 2Q22.
