Cambium buys Xirrus Wi-Fi business from Riverbed

Cambium Networks, a provider of wireless networking solutions, has acquired Xirrus Wi-Fi products and cloud services business from Riverbed Technology.

Cambium Networks will be adding Wi-Fi access points and subscription services, including XMS Cloud Management, Easy Pass Access, Application Control, Xirrus Positioning System (XPS), and MSP Command Center from Xirrus.

“The Xirrus team brings innovation in Wi-Fi development, scalable cloud services, high-density customer deployments, advanced network analytics, and cloud subscription services to Cambium Networks,” Atul Bhatnagar, president and CEO of Cambium Networks, said in a statement.

The Xirrus portfolio expands the existing Cambium Networks Wi-Fi portfolio to offer distributed enterprise, education, government, hospitality, and public venue customers, in addition to managed service providers.
