Enterprise networking vendor Brocade has hired Cisco veteran Kevin Shatzkamer as distinguished engineer and CTO Mobile Networking.
Shatzkamer will work with customer CTOs to develop new operational models to generate revenue-generating services by using emerging technologies such as Software-Defined Networking (SDN) and Network Functions Virtualization (NFV).
Shatzkamer has spent the past 15 years analyzing the impact of cloud, mobile, and digital media on the networks of service providers. Shatzkamer has more than 50 mobile networking patents granted or issued.
At Cisco, Shatzkamer served as a distinguished engineer. He currently serves as a board advisor for a number of companies, including DataRPM, Voltserver, and Penthera Partners.
