BOBST Group overhauls IT infrastructure with Riverbed solution

Riverbed

Switzerland-based BOBST Group, a global supplier of equipment and services to the packaging and label industries, used an integrated Riverbed solution to modernize IT infrastructure.

BoBST is using the IT vendor’s SteelCentral, SteelFusion and SteelHead – to set a new standard in application and network performance with improved visibility, agility, app performance, data security, and branch office IT infrastructure management across the enterprise.

Headquartered in Switzerland, BOBST has around 5,000 employees globally, a presence in more than 50 countries, and 12 production facilities across three continents.

It provides machines, services, workflows and consumables for packaging and label producers and brand owners.

With Riverbed SteelFusion, BOBST is now able to consolidate 100 percent of its global branch office data and IT infrastructure in the data center, allowing new sites to be quickly set up and enabling fast recovery in the event of a site failure – all without any compromise to application performance for remote workers.

“Previously, we had to rely on the local branch managers to do the backups,” said Xavier Plautard, Group IT Infrastructure Manager at BOBST.

“Before Riverbed, setting up a new branch office was a painful process. Thanks to Riverbed, it’s now much smoother for us to integrate new companies into our business. Riverbed SteelFusion sets a new standard in application and network performance – it’s like having a data center in a box. SteelFusion is the way to go.”
