Infotech Lead Europe: Axis has launched two new network cameras to cater to the demand of professional installations with tight budgets.
A research firm predicts that the global video surveillance market will double over the next 3 years. Their forecast covers both analog and IP video.
The AXIS M3024-LVE and AXIS M3025-VE network cameras are vandal resistant, hence suitable for installation inside or outside the entrance of a hotel, boutique, restaurant, office or school. These cameras are quick and easy to install. They can be mounted on walls or ceilings, and the camera direction can be easily adjusted.
These cameras offer day/night functionality. Both cameras have an automatically removable infrared-cut filter that enables them to capture color video during daytime conditions. The infrared (IR) light makes surveillance possible in low-light conditions without compromising on high-quality black and white video.
The AXIS M3024-LVE provides 1-megapixel or HDTV 720p video and has an 80° field of view. Its built-in infrared (IR) illumination enables surveillance in complete darkness as well.
The AXIS M3025-VE delivers 2-megapixel, HDTV 1080p video and has a wide 93° viewing angle.
AXIS M3024-LVE and AXIS M3025-VE support Corridor Format for vertically oriented video streams that are best suited to cover areas such as along walls and aisles. The cameras are delivered focus ready to shorten installation time.
The cameras have a 2 m network cable and are powered using Power over Ethernet. The cameras are outdoor-ready with IP66 and NEMA 4X ratings that ensure protection against dust, rain, snow and corrosion.
The cameras feature multiple, individually configurable streams in H.264 and Motion JPEG video formats. They have wide dynamic range with dynamic contrast for handling difficult lighting conditions and enhanced alarm management.
The cameras have video applications such as video motion detection, tampering alarm and additional applications through AXIS Camera Application Platform.
The cameras have built-in micro SDXC card slots that enables several days of recording to be stored locally on a memory card. Used alongwith the free AXIS Camera Companion, users can remotely view and manage video from up to 16 cameras per site.
AXIS M3024-LVE and AXIS M3025-VE will be available in Q3 2013 through Axis distribution channels.
