Infotech Lead India: Axis Communications has launched a new version of AXIS Camera Management.
The new version of the tool for installation and management of Axis network video products supports central management of Axis cameras in a single or multi-site system.
Enterprise users will benefit as it enables both easy distribution of applications to multiple cameras and efficient management of network video cameras for security installers and system administrators.
AXIS claims that its enhanced version of the Camera Management is designed for management of network video installations that use Axis network video products. The tool can be scaled to handle thousands of Axis network cameras and video encoders and by implementing the tool at multiple sites, all cameras can be managed from one central location.
Moreover, AXIS Camera Management allows installers and administrators to configure, maintain and upgrade single or multiple video units.
“Efficient management of cameras is key to any large security installation and is an important part of our total camera offering. Being able to offer a powerful tool that provides one central point of management further strengthens our offering to system administrators,” said Peter Friberg, director of System and Services, Axis.
Since AXIS Camera Management can automatically find cameras and other Axis video devices on the network and set IP addresses, the tool provides information about the latest firmware available and downloads and distributes upgrades to the relevant devices. In addition, users can perform sequential or parallel firmware upgrades for multiple network video products.
From October 15, AXIS Camera Management 3.10 will be available for free download.
Recently, AXIS has inked distribution agreement with ADI to expand its distribution in India. Axis’ relationship with ADI, a distributor in the security space, will equip Indian customers with better access to Axis network video products.
