Avaya and India’s Directorate General Supplies and Disposals (DGS&D) reached in a deal to provide high definition video solutions to the latter, Avaya said on Wednesday.
The partnership is expected to help Government of India to effortlessly transform its G2G and G2C communications and include video on any mobile or computing device.
“With this partnership, we are another step closer in achieving our vision towards creating smart foundations for smart cities in India,” said Arun Shetty, director of Collaboration Solutions – India, Avaya.
“We look forward to empowering our customers to make a mark for themselves in this hyper-connected business environment,” he added.
Avaya expects the move to empower India’s public sector and accelerate the momentum towards delivering a Digital India.
The company will also offer HD videoconferencing end points, multi point conferencing bridges and video desktop in the rate contract.
The alliance will enable DGS&D to connect with other departments, and facilitate a working pattern which will be aligned across all departments and government entities.
Tuesday, Avaya appointed Nidal Abou-Ltaif as president for Europe, Middle East & Africa (MEA), and Asia-Pacific (APAC).
In August, Avaya said its revenue fell 5.2 percent to $999 million in the third fiscal quarter ended June 30, 2015 — primarily due to foreign exchange fluctuations.
