Avaya Collaboration Pods aim at quick cloud deployments

Infotech Lead Asia: Avaya has launched Avaya Collaboration Pod for Avaya Aura Virtualized Environments, which can be deployed within hours, to accelerate the path to the Collaborative Cloud.

Avaya also introduced new management orchestration capabilities to simplify ongoing operation of the Avaya Collaboration Pod.

The Collaboration Pod for Avaya Aura Virtualized Environment gives enterprises and Cloud Service Providers (CSP) a full stack, plug and play communications and collaboration solution that reduce or eliminate long planning cycles, extensive cabling, integration testing and optimization phases. The newly introduced Pod Orchestration Suite simplifies ongoing operations through a single interface for managing all Pod components.

Avaya Collaboration Pods are available in flexible configurations to match the specific capacity, services and reliability requirements of each customer’s business. Each Collaboration Pod is equipped with Avaya Aura Virtualized Environment and Pod Orchestration Suite software pre-loaded as virtual appliances and has VMware vSphere ESXi 5.0 compliant compute servers deployed in a High Availability Cluster. Each pod has EMC’s VNX 5300 unified storage array for providing simplified, flexible and highly reliable storage area networking.

The Pods also feature Avaya’s VSP 7000 with Distributed Top of Rack capability to  interconnect multiple Collaboration Pods and/or external server racks for seamless scalability and highly efficient use of compute and storage resources. They offer Avaya G450 Gateway for Digital Signal Processing / PSTN connectivity and options to add the Avaya Aura Messaging Server and the Avaya Session Border Controller for Enterprise.

The Avaya Collaborative Cloud portfolio already includes a variety of solutions that enable customers and partners to build, manage, enable and deliver Avaya solutions through cloud-based delivery models.

The Avaya Collaboration Pods are now available in the US, Canada and EU countries. Apart from Avaya Collaboration Pods, companies can also select the Avaya Aura Virtualized Environment software-only model or the traditional, appliance model.

Earlier this month Avaya had announced Collaborative Cloud offers designed specifically to enable CSPs to provide Avaya’s unified communications, contact center and video conferencing solutions to their end customers.
