Arizona Transportation Dept selects NEC facial recognition system

NECArizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) has deployed NEC NeoFace facial recognition software for proven, reliable and off-site solution.

The company said automated facial recognition solution utilizes NEC’s NeoFace Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) based biometric solution through a cloud platform.

ADOT will improve the credential issuance process of its 7.7 million driver and identification records with approximately 16 million images.

According to the company, NeoFace facial recognition software system interfaces with a credential processes and reduces fraud identity activities.

This apart, NEC will also investigate fraud for ADOT with its NeoFace Reveal while ADOT can investigate cases, perform the search of photographic images and compare against driver license and identification card records.

Additionally, NEC provides most accurate facial identification solution.

In addition, NeoFace facial recognition software is easy to use as image enhancement tools and innovative multi-touch user interface utilizes Microsoft Windows 8.

Last month, NEC India signed a memorandum with AP Technology Services Limited (APTS) to collaborate in the areas of information technology for smart city initiatives in the state.

Also, NEC India deployed its Face Recognition System (FRS) for Surat City Police in Gujarat. The Face Recognition System and Forensic Criminal Investigation System offer real-time intelligence to ensure the safety of city and its citizens.

In January, NEC bagged a multi-year biometrics service deal from Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD).
