Aegis to hire 5,000 resources in U.S. BPO centers in next 4 months

The Essar group-owned Aegis is planning to create more than 5,000 jobs at its BPO centers in the U.S. over the next four months.

“We have expanded our engagements with existing clients, which will result in our hiring of more than 5,000 people. This hiring will take place in all US cities, in which we have operations,” said Aegis Global CEO Sandip Sen.

Last year, the BPO major decided to hire 1,000 agents at its centers in Irving. The company also expanded its engagements with existing clients.

In fact, the outsourcing major hired more than 4,000 resources in the U.S. in the last two years. In 2011, the company had joined the jobs4america Coalition and pledged to hire more than 4,000 workers in the U.S.

The new hiring — in both temporary and permanent positions — will be in healthcare vertical, Aegis said on Friday.

Responsibilities of these latest BPO positions will include presenting the options available to consumers so that they can make informed decisions regarding their healthcare.

Bilingual (English and Spanish) candidates as well as individuals with fluency in Russian, Mandarin, Cantonese and Korean languages will be encouraged, it said.

Aegis recently supported Toyota Kirloskar Motor India, an automobile manufacturer, to capture and understand customer insight across their product and services.
