ABB veteran Prith Banerjee joins Accenture as MD of technology R&D

ABB veteran Prith Banerjee has joined Accenture as managing director of Global Technology Research & Development within the Technology Growth Platform.

Banerjee’s responsibilities will include looking after Accenture Technology Labs, which explores new and emerging technologies, and directing Accenture’s annual Technology Vision research, which looks at the future of enterprise IT.

At ABB Group, Banerjee served most recently as chief technology officer and executive vice president, leading both corporate strategy and the divisional technology organization, which includes more than 8,000 scientists and engineers in seven ABB Research Centers around the world.

Before ABB, he was senior vice president of research at HP, where he helped develop technical strategies for the company.

He was also director of HP Labs, leading a group of 500 researchers, whose objective was to innovate five to 15 years beyond the focus of the rest of the company’s 30,000 R&D engineers.
