Arbor Networks, the security division of NETSCOUT introduced version 2.2 of its network traffic analysis platform.
Named as Arbor Networks Spectrum the platform integrates NetFlow packet and threat intelligence data for investigation of advanced threats.
Enhancements to Spectrum v2.2 include a virtualized offering for rapid installation of network traffic analysis, and a traffic archive search capability to identify threats from network data.
“Network traffic analysis is a growing area of investment for enterprise security teams because of its rapid ROI when compared to endpoint and sandbox solutions,” said Robert Westervelt, Research Manager Information Security at IDC.
According to an IDC survey of more than 1,000 IT decision makers, network traffic analysis security ranked the highest among large and very large organizations. The survey found that 42 percent of respondents cited it as a top initiative.
“CISOs consistently tell IDC that gaining visibility and full situational awareness about the organization’s security posture at all times is a significant challenge, but paramount to detecting threats and containing threats as quickly as possible,” Westervelt said.
