IP communications company XO Communications launched a full suite of unified communications (UC) features for its Hosted PBX (HPBX) service.
The latest features include: instant messaging; presence (availability status); integration with Microsoft Outlook; web-based collaboration, document and desktop sharing; as well as video calling and fax-to-email capabilities.
The XO HPBX service now automatically includes the popular WorkTime mobility application which incorporates a smartphone app and virtual phone client for the user’s desktop. The additions to the XO suite are designed to increase productivity of users in any circumstance.
“In today’s highly mobile business economy, enterprises need their employees to be able to collaborate anytime, anywhere using high-quality voice, data, video and other apps on company provided and personal devices,” said Jake Heinz, senior vice president of marketing and product at XO Communications.
XO claims that HPBX UC delivers a complete solution at an affordable price. One advantage of the system, according to the makers, is that users can extend their phone numbers to personal smartphones and computers, while keeping work and personal information separate. Workers can reduce the time they spend playing phone tag, looking for information, locating coworkers or sifting through email.
