Twilio to eliminate 17% job and close some offices

Cloud communications company Twilio said it would eliminate about 17 percent job roles and close some offices as part of a restructuring effort to focus on profitability.

Twilio will divide the operations into two units – Twilio Data and Applications and Twilio Communications.

This is the second job cut in six months. Twilio had 8,992 employees as of September 30, 2022, which includes 816 employees who were impacted by the first round of job cut and left Twilio in the fourth quarter.

Twilio reported 33 percent increase in revenue to $983 million and loss of $457.0 million for the third quarter of 2022. Twilio will report its fourth quarter results on 15 February.
