SAP has expanded SAP Mobile Secure portfolio with the addition of cloud-based mobile application management feature to help manage mobile devices in Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) environment.
The new mobile place is offered free of cost as part of SAP Mobile Secure portfolio. It provides a secure, multi-channel central hub that offers self-service capabilities to best serve employees, business partners and consumers while reducing IT support costs, SAP said.
The new feature makes it easy for companies to proactively push their mobile apps into the hands of employees, business partners and consumers. The service simplifies content delivery in both managed and unmanaged mobile devices.
For managed users, the service identifies when the device is out of compliance and directs them to download the appropriate mobile device management (MDM) solution, regardless of the MDM vendor, before they are able to install any apps.
While the mobile place provides IT admins with a single destination to publish, manage and analyze apps, content and profiles, it provides end users with a place to easily discover and download relevant apps and set up related services such as network access, e-mail, identity and more.
