RailTel launches telepresence video conferencing services

RailTel has launched its telepresence video conferencing services in India.

“RailTel’s telepresence solution is a small step towards enabling a virtual world. The use of telepresence reduces travel costs, alleviate scheduling conflicts, increases productivity and promotes a more cohesive work force across the many times zones of our new global economy,” said RK Bahuguna, CMD of RailTel.

The main features of RailTel TPaaS is its Opex model service where the customer can enjoy full HD video conferencing experience without bothering about the concerns of procurement process for equipment and network, high initial cost, quality of network connectivity, availability of IT support, etc.

“We will take care of setting up the necessary equipment and provide technological upgradation of the equipments as and when required omitting the risk of technological obsolesces,” said A Seshagiri Rao, director (Network, planning & Marketing), RailTel.

The company is maintaining its central infrastructure including multi-point bridge, streaming, recording facility and 24×7 help desk facility at its Tier-III Data Centre at Hyderabad. The central PSU is ensuring the high availability of central infrastructure with DR site working in active load balancing mode at Gurgaon.
