Orange Business Services bags WAN deal from Siemens AG

Orange Business Services has won a contract extension and expansion from Siemens AG for a global Wide Area Network (WAN) connecting 1,500 sites in 90 countries.

The performance of its communications infrastructure will enable Siemens to take full advantage of cloud services and applications, voice over IP and telepresence, and to improve the support of its business processes.

As part of the network expansion, Orange Business Services will migrate 470 sites in 26 countries in addition to the existing 1,030 sites in 69 countries that have been managed for Siemens since 2009. This additional consolidation will further reduce complexity and boost network performance and agility.

“As a globally operating company with offices all over the world, we need a reliable and sustainable communication network that is a critical business enabler and can evolve with our business,” said Norbert Kleinjohann, CIO of Siemens.
