Even if the user is not attached to the corporate network they can still reach Identity and Access Management (IAM) service from their phones and tablets using Hitachi ID Mobile Access.

Communication between the user’s device and on-premise IAM system is facilitated by a cloud-hosted proxy service.

Company officials said device must be activated via a scanner QR code to ensure security.

“Users increasingly access corporate services from their phones. This includes IAM services such as searching for contact information, approving security requests or unlocking forgotten pre-boot passwords,” says Idan Shoham, Hitachi ID CTO.

In January, Hitachi ID Systems announced its partnership with Hitachi Data Systems Corporation to bundle its IAM suite, which consists of Identity Manager, Password Manager and Privileged Access Manager, with select Hitachi Content Platform and Hitachi Unified Compute Platform offerings from Hitachi Data Systems.
