Ford Appoints Apple Veteran Peter Stern to Lead Innovative Ford Integrated Services Division

In a strategic move to enhance its digital offerings and customer experiences, Ford Motor Company has announced the appointment of Apple veteran Peter Stern to head the newly established Ford Integrated Services division. This division is dedicated to conceptualizing and delivering software-enabled customer experiences across Ford Blue, Model e, and Ford Pro.
FordPeter Stern’s illustrious career includes serving as the Vice President of Services at Apple for over six years, up until January 2023. Stern played a pivotal role in the successful launch of Apple’s comprehensive portfolio of services, including notable offerings like Apple TV+, Apple News+, Apple Arcade, Apple Fitness+, MLS Season Pass, and Apple One.

Reporting directly to President and CEO Jim Farley, Peter Stern’s appointment underscores Ford’s commitment to harnessing the potential of connected, digital platforms to revolutionize the automotive landscape. The company envisions redefining how vehicles function, transforming interactions with vehicles, and enhancing the overall value they provide to customers.

Ford’s foray into this digital frontier has already yielded remarkable results. With over 550,000 paid software and services subscribers, a significant portion of which is attributed to Ford Pro commercial customers, the company is well poised to further amplify its digital offerings.

During his tenure at Apple, Peter Stern held pivotal positions that involved overseeing Apple TV+, Apple Sports, iCloud, Apple News, Apple Books, Apple Arcade, Apple Fitness+, and Apple One. Stern’s purview also encompassed Apple’s marketing strategies for services such as the App Store, Apple Card, Apple Pay, Apple Music, Apple Podcasts, and Apple Maps. His leadership extended to managing Apple’s advertising businesses during a phase of rapid expansion.

Before joining Apple in 2016, Stern held the position of Executive Vice President and Chief Product, People, and Strategy Officer at Time Warner Cable. His professional journey began at McKinsey & Co. Stern holds a Juris Doctor degree from Yale Law School, where he contributed as an editor of the Yale Law Journal and authored the book “Connecticut Prisoners’ Rights.” He also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Music and English from Harvard University.
