Delhi Airport to make additional tech investment

Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) is making additional investment in technology to enhance customer experience at Indira Gandhi International (IGI) airport in Delhi.
republic-airways-and-airline-technologyPassenger handling capacity at Delhi Airport will go up to 140 million passengers per annum by 2022, once the project is completed. In 2018, Delhi Airport has handled 69.8 million passengers.

There will be an increase in security screening systems and baggage handling at the new integrated Terminal 1 – a combination of the Arrival and Departure terminals of Delhi Airport.

The integrated terminal will offer passenger-friendly facilities such as Self Baggage Drop (SBD) kiosks, facial recognition, automated tray retrieval system (ATRS), and common usage self service (CUSS).

Delhi Airport would become the first airport in India to have four runways as well as dual ECT, Financial Express reported.

Delhi Airport will be spending on IT systems of the entire Baggage Handling System at T3. Engineering firm, Larsen & Toubro (L&T), will be handling the entire project of Phase 3A.
