Cisco launches BE6000S collaboration targeting midsized companies

Enterprise networking vendor Cisco today launched the Business Edition 6000S (BE6000S), a collaboration platform targeting midsized companies.

Cisco BE6000S delivers essential collaboration capabilities such as voice, video, instant messaging, presence and paging for customers with 10-25 users.

Cisco said the new BE6000 platform increases the video capacity by 25 percent to support more simultaneous video calls, enabling more users to collaborate with video. Customers can also enable video recording and streaming functionality on their BE6000.

Customers can get collaboration capabilities built into a Cisco 2921 Integrated Services Router (ISR), giving them Cisco’s routing, security, wireless and collaboration services in a single box.

Users can easily install the BE6000S. It ensures reduced cost of ownership for companies with small IT staff. Cisco will launch the BE6000S globally in early 2015.

For midsize organizations, Cisco offers a migration path to higher capacity Business Edition 6000 (BE6000) platforms. More than two million users are using BE6000 globally since its launch in 2011, said Cisco.
