Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) has selected enterprise mobility management (EMM) provider AirWatch by VMware to manage its agency wide deployment of government-owned mobile devices.
FDLE recently revised its mobility strategy to include iOS and Android devices, and consequently began searching for an MDM solution for device management, security and regulatory compliance.
According to FDLE, the agency chose AirWatch because of its ability to enforce robust management and security parameters while preserving the technology’s user experience.
FDLE needed an EMM provider with maximum security capabilities, including enforcement of device authentication with PIN or password and the ability to detect and block jailbroken or rooted devices from the corporate network.
AirWatch’s mobile application management (MAM) was also a major attraction for FDLE, as the department plans to offer a custom app store of corporate-approved apps to its end users.
