Aerohive Networks offers Wi-Fi to Apple ConnectED initiative

Aerohive Networks, a provider of Wi-Fi and cloud-managed mobile networking, has been selected by Apple to provide Wi-Fi infrastructure to support the ConnectED initiative supported by Apple.

ConnectED is a U.S. government initiative to empower teachers with the best technology and training to make the most of it, to empower students through individualized learning and rich, digital content.

Apple will grant 114 schools iPads, MacBooks, and Apple TVs, along with technical and professional development support.  Other partners will provide educational content, tailored curriculum and network connectivity.

Apple ConnectEDAerohive will provide its connectivity solutions for Apple devices and supporting resources. They include 802.11ac wireless access points, switches and cloud-based management. Aerohive is the only Wi-Fi infrastructure company working with Apple on this initiative.

Aerohive’s Bonjour Gateway is designed around the properties and requirements of iOS- and OS X-based client devices to manage and control Apple service availability, such as AirPrint, AirPlay, file sharing and collaboration applications

Managed service provider and Aerohive Partner Education Networks of America (ENA) will deploy and manage Aerohive’s Wi-Fi solution in the Apple-selected schools with their turnkey managed service, ENA Air.
