Verizon Communications said its Rapid Response Retainer and Verizon Digital Media Services are helping Japanese motorized products maker Yamaha Motor to better manage security risks and to improve online customer experience.
In a press statement, Verizon said Rapid Response Retainer will give Yamaha Motor direct access to Verizon’s security assets, which includes digital forensics and computer incident response expertise.
Moreover, the retainer enables Yamaha Motor’s Computer Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT) to further reinforce its security capabilities.
According to statistics from the Japanese National Police Agency, cybercrime increased 40 percent from 2014.
“With the increased frequency and sophistication of cybercrime, there was a need to enhance our existing security measures,” said Taku Harako, Senior Supervisor of Yamaha Motor’s Process & IT Division,
Harako noted that Yamaha was able to minimize the risks from any potential data breach by creating an internal CSIRT.
In addition to Rapid Response Retainer, Yamaha Motor also selected Verizon’s Content Delivery Network (CDN), powered by Verizon Digital Media Services.
Verizon said its CDN will enable Yamaha Motor to securely deliver high-quality content to online users in select geographic locations.
Tetsu Inagaki, Manager of Yamaha Motor’s Process & IT Division, said: “While online content is constantly evolving, becoming richer and more dynamic, online consumers continue to expect a consistent experience. We operate 131 websites globally and a robust CDN is a necessity regardless of location.”
