Quikr and Yepme tap LinguaNext for regional language mobile app

Mobile apps of Quikr, a classifieds website and Yepme, an online retailing of apparels, are using Linguify.Mobile to offer content in Hindi language.

LinguaNext, the Pune-based developers of Linguify.Mobile, a language platform product for mobile applications, said the newly launched language platform transforms mobile applications in various Indian languages, with no application performance loss, and without changing or accessing the underlying source code.

“In a diverse multilingual country where millions access the internet from their mobile phones, we aimed to come up with a solution which can give mobile app users freedom to communicate, browse and shop in their own preferred language,” said Jagdish Sahasrabudhe, CEO, LinguaNext.

Due to the time consuming related issues such as refactoring source code, getting translations, carrying out language testing and application lifecycle management for multiple languages, developers face risk for translation of a mobile app.

Linguify.Mobile provides a single integrated app for multiple languages.

Enterprises such as Quikr.com  and Yepme.com can make their mobile apps global, reach out to newer markets, or reach domestic customers who prefer different languages, without any impact to their app development organizations.

Availability of Quikr in regional languages is vital for the success of its e-commerce business. Quikr gets most customers from top 15 cities in India. Regional language presence will assist the online channel to expand reach to small cities and towns.

Krishna Iyer, AVP & head of Sales, Quikr.com, said: “We are seeing significant user adoption through our mobile apps, and now with the option to use the app in Hindi, and soon in other Indian languages, we look forward to multiplying our user base and creating a truly broad-based classifieds marketplace.”

Yepme.com is looking for a flexible and efficient solution which can seamlessly integrate Hindi language to our existing mobile app in less time, according to Avinash Parhi, general manager – Operations Excellence, Yepme.com.

Quikr is a cross-category classifieds platform that is used by over 30 million unique users a month. It is present in 940 cities in India and operates in over 10 categories that include mobile phones, household goods, cars, real estate, jobs, services and education.

Yepme was launched in April 2011 and it services over 1000 cities monthly as against most offline retail fashion brands which service only 75 cities. The company delivers close to 500,000 units per month to its customers.
