Minda deploys Dell NetVault Backup License for Datacenter

Minda Corporation has deployed Dell’s NetVault Backup License for Datacenter and reduced the total cost of ownership by 70 percent within 9 months.

Before selecting Dell, the company evaluated IBM. But it did not select IBM because Dell’s NetVault Backup License for Datacenter scored a higher rating in comparison with other competitors.

The Pune-based company, which manufactures products like mechanical & electronic security systems, door systems, electronic controllers for electric vehicles, plastic interiors for auto OEMs, has selected Dell for its backup and recovery solutions.

Minda already had a complete SAP landscape running on AIX with backend database DB2 and Windows Operating system.

The company benefitted from easy installation and use. End users benefited by eliminating multiple, disparate processes. The company also found that the IT training and expertise requirements were also reduced considerably within a short span of time, as there was one solution and interface for all types of back-up. The company reduced the time spent on back-up tasks to 15 minutes a day.

“Data is business critical and we did not want to compromise in choosing the best back-up solutions for our organization. Right from the deployment stage, Dell’s solutions have proved to be user-friendly and easy-to-use. Dell’s solutions have demonstrated effectiveness in both cost and functionality,” said Babu Singh Tanwar, Head – IT- Infrastructure, Minda Corporation.
