Intel acquires identity management service PasswordBox

Intel has acquired PasswordBox, an identity management service, a Canadian IT company.

The Montreal-based PasswordBox gives users a convenient way to log into websites and applications from any device without typing or remembering passwords.

The Santa Clara, California-based Intel did not share the purchase price for the privately held Canadian start-up.

PasswordBox, founded in 2012, will become a part of the Safe Identity organization within Intel Security Group, said the chipmaker in a statement.
