IT company Dell said it’s supporting the recently launched eKranti initiative in Gujarat by Gujarat State Co-operative Credit Societies Federation to deliver government services electronically to citizens.
Dell will be supplying the technology infrastructure comprising Dell Vostro laptops and desktops, and Dell OptiPlex all-in-ones pre-installed with Microsoft OS, Microsoft office and anti-virus.
Gujarat State Co-operative Credit Societies Federation and Dell’s channel partner – Earth Syscom and Project Central Partner – Jintech Solutions signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for implementing the project.
The aim of the eKranti initiative is to offer computers – on 0 percent interest and 12 monthly installments — to citizens through societies registered with the Federation.
“This initiative of reaching out through the federation associations will bring access to a large new base of users that will improve citizen services. The project’s success will make Gujarat serve as a model that can be therefore replicated across the country,” said Vishal Garkhel, general manager, West Geo, Dell India.
Dell has already executed projects such as CCTNS, E-Distt, Sarv Siksha Abhiyan, IGRS, etc. across various geographies.
