6fusion, ICIx to promote IaaS marketplace growth

Vadodara-based 6fusion International on Thursday said it has entered into a partnership with India Compute Interchange (ICIx) to boost the development of Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) marketplaces in the country.

Under the partnership, a new company 6fusion Online India has been created will focus on servicing the needs of the growing IaaS market in India and will enable enterprises, government agencies and cloud service providers to benchmark, measure and efficiently transact compute resource power in the Indian marketplace.

IaaS and cloud computing are two key trends registering a fast adoption in the technology domain.

“We have only started to scratch the surface of the Cloud in India. Benchmarking, measuring and eventually being able to transact IT Infrastructure in a transparent, open market is a reality,” ICIx director Hemal Mewada said in a statement.

In the past, 6fusion has standardised the economic measurement of IT infrastructure and cloud services. Its Workload Allocation Cube (WAC) is the industry’s standard for economic measurement in the field of IT.

“6fusion Online India’s tools and technology, coupled with the capital efficiencies provided by ICIx, will help prepare the digital foundation for the future of India by providing an efficient marketplace for the cloud and its users,” said its COO Sahil Shah.

“We believe the partnership will be instrumental in assisting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of being able to provide compute resources to every person in India as a utility,” he added.
