IT employees are the highest paid in India, with their gross hourly salary at 346.42 rupees, Monster India said.
The figure is about 24 percent higher than the median salary, 279.7, for the entire Indian economy taken together.
However only 57 percent of the employees surveyed in the IT sector are satisfied with their pay.
The BFSI sector is close second with a median gross salary of 300.23/hr. However, only 52 percent employees in the BFSI sector are satisfied with their pay.
The salaries in the manufacturing sector are as low as 254.04/hr. Interestingly, unlike IT and BFSI as large as 60 percent of them are satisfied with their salary.
