Dell retains lead in Converged systems market in Q3 ahead of Cisco

Converged systems revenue rose 10.8 percent to $2.99 billion in the third quarter of 2017. The converged systems market consumed 1.96 exabytes (+30 percent) of new storage capacity.

The certified reference systems and integrated infrastructure segment revenue rose 1.5 percent to $1.44 billion, representing 48.3 percent of the total converged systems market.

Dell was the largest supplier in certified reference systems and integrated infrastructure segment market, with $697.2 million in sales and 48.3 percent share.

IDC said hyperconverged systems sales grew 68 percent to $1 billion, representing 33.5 percent of the total converged systems revenue.

Nutanix generated $207.4 million in revenue with the second largest share of 20.7 percent.

Integrated platforms sales fell 19.8 percent to $542.7 million, representing 18.2 percent of the total converged systems market value.

Oracle was the top-ranked supplier of integrated platforms during the quarter, generating revenues of $240.4 million and 45.8 percent share of the market.
