Converged systems market revenues rose 4.6 percent year over year to $2.67 billion during the first quarter of 2017, said IDC.
The converged systems market consumed 1.48 exabytes (+7.1 percent) of storage capacity during the quarter.
“Converged systems solutions represent a conduit for the key technologies driving much needed data center modernization and efficiencies such as flash, software-defined infrastructure and private cloud platforms,” said Eric Sheppard, research director, Enterprise Storage & Converged Systems at IDC.
The combined integrated infrastructure and certified reference systems market generated revenues of $1.37 billion (–3.3 percent), representing 51.3 percent of the total market.
Dell was the largest supplier of this combined market segment with $647.8 million in sales, or 47.2 percent share of the market segment.
Integrated Platform sales generated $635.9 million (–13.3 percent), accounting for 23.8 percent of the total market revenue. Oracle was the top supplier of Integrated Platforms, generating revenues of $348.7 million and capturing a 54.8 percent share of the market.
Hyperconverged sale was $665.1 million (+64.7 percent), amounting for 24.9 percent of the market value.
