How converged systems market performed in 2015

Converged Systems Revenue in Q4 2015 by IDC
The converged systems market revenue increased 8.5 percent to $3.1 billion in the fourth quarter of 2015 and grew 8.3 percent to $10.6 billion in 2015.

The converged systems market generated 1,547 petabytes (+26.9 percent) of new storage capacity shipments in Q4 2015.

IDC did not share the specific market share of VCE, HPE, Oracle, Dell, etc. in the converged systems market.

“We are seeing some of the market demand move into deals with lower average selling prices (ASPs), which is driving a shift from traditional converged systems to hyperconverged systems,” said Kevin M. Permenter, senior research analyst, Enterprise Servers at IDC.

During the fourth quarter of 2015, the Integrated Systems market generated revenues of more than $2.0 billion (+6.7 percent) – representing 65.6 percent of the total market value.

VCE was the largest supplier of Integrated Systems with $743 million in sales, or 36.3 percent share of the market segment. HPE was in the second position with 19.5 percent, while Oracle had 17.7 percent market share to take the third rank in the Integrated Systems market.

Hyper-converged sales grew 170.5 percent in Q4 to more than $355.9 million, representing 11.4 percent of the total market value.
