Wipro launches skill enhancement program to non-engineering college students

Outsourcing major Wipro has launched skill enhancement program to non-engineering college students in India.

Wipro Integrated Skill Enhancement Program (WISEPro) is aimed at offering communication and soft skills training to undergraduate students, predominantly from non-engineering colleges in India.

The training is targeted at improving their employability in the Information Technology, Business Process Management (BPM), as well as other services sectors, Wipro said on Monday.

The company started the WISEPro initiative to students at Kolkata-based Techno India Group.

Wipro plans to extend this program nationally to over 5000 students by the end of fiscal 2014. The software major will target smaller centers in India, besides the large cities.
