Mavenir Systems unveils IMS-PBX for telcos to support SMBs

Mavenir Systems, a provider of software-based networking solutions, launched IMS-PBX solution, which enables telecom service providers to leverage their next-generation IMS networks to offer business services to the small to medium business (SMB) market.

The company has secured two contracts with Tier 1 service providers for its IMS-PBX solution.

Mavenir’s IMS-PBX solution integrates voice, video, presence/IM, messaging, and voice and video conferencing across multiple devices for a seamless unified communications experience, the company said.

IMS allows operators to develop exciting and differentiated services for small to medium-sized businesses that are feature-rich and cost effective, says Pardeep Kohli, president and chief executive officer, Mavenir Systems.

The solution benefits SMB customers as it allows them to connect with and manage their smartphones, fixed lines, and web-based devices seamlessly. The solution enables business lines to work across these multiple devices in a simple, intuitive and native manner.

The IMS-PBX will be generally available in 2Q2015.

Kohli added, “Mavenir’s unique, virtualized end-to-end portfolio, that includes voice, video, messaging and mobile core products, allows operators to quickly enhance and monetize their networks through enhanced/new services such as this.”

IMS-PBX solution leverages Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) to deploy new services on service providers’ cloud infrastructure.

The solution is based on Mavenir’s mOne Convergence platform and proven technology including the IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) Core and Application Servers and particularly leveraging Mavenir’s WebRTC Gateway and cross-platform OTT mobile clients.
