Nintendo lowered its full-year hardware sales target by 7 percent, now expecting to sell 12.5 million Switch consoles — a 20 percent decrease from the previous year’s sales of 15.7 million units.

Annual software sales are now projected at 160 million units, a 3 percent cut from the initial forecast.

Nintendo has reduced its operating profit forecast for the fiscal year ending March 2025 by 10 percent, down to 360 billion yen ($2.36 billion).

Nintendo’s President, Shuntaro Furukawa, stated that despite lowered projections, the company still plans to announce a successor to the Switch console within the current financial year, though specifics were not provided.
