SAP to drive Ahmedabad – Gandhinagar metro rail project

Enterprise software vendor SAP India on Wednesday announced that the Metro-link Express for Gandhinagar and Ahmedabad (MEGA) has chosen SAP solutions to assist Gujarat’s metro rail run efficiently and profitably.

The SAP solutions deployment will enable various departments of MEGA to be connected over a unified network and facilitate smoother information flow and access.

Manjula Subramaniam, chairman, MEGA, said the project aims to create a benchmark in terms of taking e-governance to the next level.

SAP implementation is expected to bring better transparency and agility in the system and will assist them  in improving  operational proficiency. This project included deployment of various solutions from SAP such as SAP ECC, SAP BusinessObjects, SAP EHS, SAP Payroll and SAP Netweaver.

SAP solution will assist the metro project to accelerate the performance of operational models and comprehensively improve the decision-making efficiency thereby elevating the service level.

“Transportation sector have begun to leverage innovative technology to help them prepare for  rapid urbanization and address sustainable growth,” said Mathew Thomas, vice president – Strategic Industries, SAP India.
