Ixia hires HP executive Bethany Mayer as CEO

Ixia has appointed HP executive Bethany Mayer as president and CEO.

At HP, Bethany was instrumental in pioneering its SDN and NFV initiatives, product strategies and ecosystem development.

Most recently, Mayer served as HP’s senior vice president and general manager of its Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) business and led the company’s NFV initiative.

Before that, Mayer was senior vice president and general manager of the HP Networking Business unit, where under her leadership the business unit delivered 12 consecutive quarters of growth.

Prior to that, Mayer was vice president, marketing and alliances for HP’s Enterprise Servers Storage and Networking Group.

Prior to joining HP, Mayer served as senior vice president of marketing and corporate development at Blue Coat Systems, and held product marketing roles at Cisco Systems and Apple Computer.

  1. Maybe when she comes on board she will do a site by site survey of the management staff and flip some of the shills, deadwood, and con artists out the door. Some of them spend more time with their high priced toys than they do developing markets. Rather than have teams compete and work in secret the entire paradigm needs to shift towards open collaboration and cooperation.
