Tribal products go digital in India

The Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India, (TRIFED), under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, is going digital.

Jual Oram, the Union Tribal Affairs Minister, will launch e-Tribes India, in the presence of Jaswantsinh Sumanbhai Bhabhor, the Minister of State for Tribal Affairs, and Sudarshan Bhagat, the Minister of State for Tribal Affairs.

The launch of e-Tribes includes www.tribesindia.comwww.trifed.in and Retail Inventory Software and M-commerce app.

TRIFED has developed its e-commerce website www.tribesindia.com for the sale of its products and to tap m-commerce. Users can download the Android App in Google store (Tribes India) on smart phone and conduct e-sales.

Going digital will lead to expansion of tribal commerce and the availability of tribal products globally.

TRIFED has entered into agreements with e-commerce platforms like Snapdeal, Amazon, Flipkart and Paytm to offer their customers various tribal products and produce through their portals to facilitate online sale.
