Union Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Minister Rajiv Pratap Rudy will on Wednesday hold an online interaction with top CEOs on ways in which Indian companies’ corporate social responsibility (CSR) funds can be used for skill development projects, said an official statement.

The event, held in partnership with the World Bank, will be on ‘Google+ Hangout’, according to a release by the union skill development and entrepreneurship ministry on Monday.

Chairpersons of public sector undertakings such as State Bank of India, Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Ltd and Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd will also participate in the function to be held from 4.30 p.m. to 6 p.m.

India is expected to have half of its population under 28 years by 2030,and while the “ageing economy” phenomenon will globally create a shortage of skilled manpower of 57 million by 2020, India will have a surplus of 46 million working people, said Rudy.

“Helping this young population with the right skills will provide India a huge demographic dividend,” he said.
