ZuperMeal, the two-month-old Mumbai-based mobile app to order home cooked food, is to receive a capital infusion of $2 million or close to Rs 13 crore for an undisclosed stake from Celebrity Chef Sanjeev Kapoor and Ravi Saxena, promoter of Wonderchef, a kitchen appliance firm.

The move seeks to redress the social cause of women’s empowerment and entrepreneurship besides creating a value proposition for the new growing Indian culture of eating out, the company said in a statement.

ZuperMeal is a marketplace for home cooked food. Ravi Saxena is a leading hospitality business expert and is known for having built from scratch companies like Sodexo, Gloria Jean’s Coffees, Yellow Chilli Restaurant Franchise and now Wonderchef.
