Mellanox improves load time of Australian ecommerce sites

Mellanox Technologies, a supplier of end-to-end interconnect solutions for servers and storage systems, announced it has been chosen by Anchor, an Australian web hosting provider, to enhance customer experience on its e-commerce cloud hosting platform.

The company has selected Mellanox end-to-end FDR 56Gb/s InfiniBand solutions, including ConnectX-3 adapters, SwitchX2 switch systems, and LinkX cables, and OpenStack software for heavy, online-transaction-processing (OLTP) workloads commonly seen with content management systems (CMS) and online retail applications.

The solution helps the cloud service provider to improve page load times and maximize uptime for Australian online retailers.

Bart Thomas, CEO of Anchor, said, “With Mellanox’s FDR 56Gb/s InfiniBand-based solutions, we are able to meet online retailers’ need for ultra high-performance, low-latency, highly-scalable networks, enabling them to better serve their customers during peak shopping periods.”

Anchor specializes in providing managed hosting services for Magento e-commerce customers in both Australia and the USA. The new OpenStack cloud has been architected around Mellanox’s FDR 56Gb/s InfiniBand solutions to deliver the best shopping experience online.

“The combination of an OpenStack-based cloud and Ceph storage connected with a blazingly fast InfiniBand network enables Anchor to offer the most efficient and scalable e-commerce platform available,” said Kevin Deierling, vice president of marketing at Mellanox Technologies.

“Mellanox’s FDR 56Gb/s InfiniBand solution gives a performance lift to all applications, resulting in better response times and an improved user experience no matter how data or resource intensive,” Deierling added.
