Amazon India’s Great Indian Festival 2024 has posted a surge in rural and non-metro consumption, achieving its highest-ever customer engagement with 140 crore visits during the month-long sale.

Key highlights include:
Over 85 percent of visits and 70 percent of participating sellers came from tier 2 and smaller cities, with an increase in sellers from these areas achieving sales milestones.
Amazon delivered more than 3 crore products to Prime members, marking a 26 percent increase in same or next-day deliveries compared to the previous year.
Over 70 percent more sellers surpassed Rs 1 crore in sales, while smaller sellers, including women entrepreneurs and artisans, collectively sold over 1,000 items per minute.
EMI usage for high-ticket items like electronics saw a 25 percent year-on-year growth, with 80 percent of these using No Cost EMI options.
Tier 2 and smaller cities made up over 70 percent of premium smartphone sales (Rs 30,000 and above) and 50 percent of TV purchases. Large appliance sales, particularly air conditioners and refrigerators, increased by 25 percent in these areas.
This growth underlines Amazon’s expanding reach in India’s smaller cities and rising rural consumer power, with enhanced support for small businesses and flexible purchasing options fueling the demand.
