Amazon.com buys home routers maker eero

Amazon.com has signed an agreement to buy eero, a start-up company that makes home routers, to help customers better connect smart home devices.
Amazon.com musicTerms of the deal were not disclosed.

The latest IDC research report said the smart home devices shipment reached 433.1 million (+27.6 percent) in 2017. The forecast on smart home devices says shipment will reach 939.7 million in 2022, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 18.5 percent.

Eero, was founded in 2014 and is headquartered in San-Francisco. It has raised $90 million from First Round Capital, Menlo Ventures, AME Cloud Ventures, Initialized Capital, Homebrew Ventures and others.
