Spain’s Meliá Hotels transform business with Accenture solutions


Spanish hotel company Meliá Hotels International has selected Accenture for digital transformation.

The hotel network has deployed Accenture Interactive and Accenture Travel.

With these solutions, Meliá Hotels increased direct sales by 27 percent and achieve more than EUR336 million in 2015 in direct sales revenue. It has also added more than one million registrations to its re-launched Meliá Rewards program.

“This digital transformation is strategically important to the growth of our robust hotel, resort and vacation club property portfolio,” said José María Dalmau, vice president of Global Sales and Marketing at Meliá Hotels International.

Dalmau confirmed that the hotel achieved impressive results and expects to deliver even stronger numbers.  “With Accenture’s help, direct sales increased 27 percent in the first year of implementation and are expected to grow on a 30 percent basis over the next three years,” Dalmau added.

To address the future digital requirements of the hospitality industry, Meliá Hotels International and Accenture have teamed to develop a new digital marketing strategy that Accenture Interactive will support.

It consists of digital content production, marketing campaign management services and advanced customer analytics.
