Meta Platforms, the parent company of social media giants WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram, has announced the widespread rollout of generative artificial intelligence (AI) tools aimed at assisting online advertisers in creating diverse content, including image backgrounds and variations of written text.
The company initiated testing of these innovative tools back in May, granting access to a select group of advertisers within a designated “testing playground”. Following successful testing, the tools will now be integrated into Meta’s Ads Manager, making them accessible to advertisers. The complete rollout is anticipated to be finalized by the next year.
This development signifies Meta’s initial venture into incorporating generative AI technology into its product offerings, utilizing vast repositories of historical data to generate new and varied content, encompassing prose, artwork, and software code.
Last week, Meta Platforms had also revealed plans to enable businesses to utilize AI for business messaging on Messenger and WhatsApp, enhancing customer engagement and support, Reuters news report said.
Within Meta’s expanding portfolio of AI products, notable offerings include the language model “Llama 2” and Meta AI, an AI-powered chatbot capable of generating text responses and photo-realistic images. These advancements further bolster Meta’s commitment to leveraging cutting-edge AI capabilities to enhance user experiences and empower businesses in their interactions with their audience.
As AI continues to play an increasingly significant role across various industries, Meta Platforms is poised to remain at the forefront of innovation, continuously evolving and integrating AI technologies to meet the dynamic demands of the digital landscape.
