South Korean video game developer Krafton has unveiled the much-anticipated Battlegrounds Mobile India Series (BGIS) 2023, a thrilling esports event set to captivate gaming enthusiasts across the nation. With a staggering prize pool of Rs 2 crore up for grabs, thousands of teams are expected to compete in this highly competitive tournament.
The BGIS 2023 series will kick off on July 20, 2023, and extend until October 14, 2023, offering an exhilarating three months of intense gaming action.
To ensure that players and fans have the ultimate gaming experience, the tournament will be divided into two phases – online qualifiers and offline grand finals. The online qualifiers will take place over several weeks, followed by the nail-biting grand finals scheduled for October 12 to 14. Fans will have the incredible opportunity to witness the excitement firsthand, as the grand finals will be held on-ground, allowing them to attend and cheer for their favorite teams.

To make the event more inclusive and accessible, Krafton has gone the extra mile by broadcasting the Grand Finals in ten languages, including English, Hindi, and eight regional languages. This move ensures that the excitement of the competition reaches every corner of the country, uniting gaming enthusiasts from diverse linguistic backgrounds.
The tournament will commence with “The Grind,” where 256 invited teams will fiercely compete for a spot among the top 64 teams. These top-performing teams will then advance to Rounds 2 and 3 of the tournament. Additionally, players who qualify through the In-Game Qualifiers will also join the invited teams in the main event.
Teams interested in participating in the BGIS 2023 can register between July 24 and August 2, with verifications taking place from August 3 to August 9. Once verified, the teams will proceed to the intense in-game qualifiers, featuring 15 classic matches from August 10 to August 17. The rankings will be determined based on the teams’ top 10 match scores, setting the stage for an exhilarating gaming showdown.
