Intel India today said it will set up Intel India Maker Lab, an innovation initiative, in its Bengaluru campus – targeting start-ups and innovators across the country.
The lab will be operational soon, said Intel India. The strategy of Intel India is to leverage the digital India initiatives of the Indian government.
The Lab aims to accelerate hardware design innovation by boosting product innovation and enhance maker capability for innovators and startups, which can bring their ideas, develop proof of concepts, and create products or solutions.
Intel India Maker Lab will provide the infrastructure, development kits, reference boards, hardware and software tools, in addition to mentoring and business connection for local Indian entrepreneurs and innovators to develop and test their ideas leading to products and solutions using this Lab, said the company in a statement.
“With the Intel India Maker Lab, we are offering a strong platform to India’s vibrant start-up ecosystem, and encouraging young innovators to turn their ideas into exciting and relevant products for India,” said Kumud Srinivasan, president of Intel India.
